Dale Bottom Farm
Lake District

Our rating 4/5

We stayed at the Dale Bottom Farm in Keswick. The site is situated about a mile and a half away from Keswick itself.

We got to the campsite around mid morning, the campsite was accessible off the main road although it is possible to drive straight past it if you miss the sign. The campsite is in a dip. The views from the campsite were spectacular and probably among the best of any English campsite we've ever stayed at.

Any night star gazers are forewarned to have their telescope handy. On a clear night the night skies can be seen unhindered by light pollution from here no star gazers will be in their element!

We had a single use BBQ and there was no problem using it. There were one or two noisy tents but nothing out of the ordinary and it wouldn't put us off from using Dale Bottom Farm again. We found the site to be spacious with plenty of room to pitch up. The ground was soft but not muddy.

The site has shower and toilet facilities within a short distance from the campsite area. The showers were hot when we used them so no complaints there either.

Keswick is only a short distance if your wanting something more lively to do at night. The pubs in Keswick were lively and we didn't find the taxis overly expensive if you fancy a night out whilst you are there. Equally, there are some good takeaways and restaurants worth a try.
