UK Three Peak Challenge

PostPosted by Snake » Wed Jan 25, 2017 1:03 pm

I'm looking at doing the three peaks challenge later on in the year with friends. I''d like to know if there's anybody out there who has done this who can offer any advise on routes, maps accommodation etc etc. Thanks in advance.

Hi there "Snake", I've never actually done the three peaks but my brother-in-law did it last year. He said your best to do Ben Nevis first as that's the tallest and the hardest peak to complete, he said he wouldn't recommend attempting the challenge until at least June to maximise the benefits of long days and better weather. I've just done a bit of research and there's actually a three peaks challenge website which I've found really useful as it offers tips for all "three" three peaks challenges, the National Three Peaks Challenge, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and the Welsh Three Peaks Challenge. Here's the website address if you would like to check it out. https://www.threepeakschallenge.uk/nati ... nge/timing
